Pastoral visitors needed!
Our Pastoral Care Team could use your help for a few hours each week. We have a number of parishioners who are housebound, some temporarily shut-in, some who are lonely and some unwell. An occasional visit or even just a phone call from someone who cares can be a great blessing. We would gladly provide some training and support if you feel you could help out. Please contact David Swift through the church office.

Women's Groups
ANGLICAN CHURCH WOMEN (A.C.W.)
This group focusses on missions in the community and around the world. It meets after lunch on the second Tuesday of each month, normally at the house of a member, to plan, pray, and occasionally to listen to an invited guest speaker.
"command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share."
(Timothy 1, 6:18)
All funds earned through yard sales, lunches, offerings, etc., go to assist worthy causes, such as the Christmas Basket Fund, Snow Suit Fund, Lanark County Food Bank and the Church's Community Outreach Program.
Beyond the parish, the A.C.W. helps Arctic Circle Communities; the work of Mary Sherwood with orphans and abandoned children in Madagascar; the Least Coin, a charity to help women's causes worldwide; the Primates World Relief Fund; the Salvation Army, and many others.
ST. JAMES WOMEN'S COUNCIL (first meeting for this fall is on Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.)
)Begun many years ago as an umbrella body to co-ordinate the activities of the various women's groups in St James, the Women's Council is now very active in raising funds for St. James. The Council caters many social events, weddings and funerals in the Parish Hall.
FAMILY LIFE GROUP
This group grew out of the Mother's Union. It meets regularly the second Wednesday of the month, usually to listen to presentations that have a Christian relevance in the daily life of families. Contact: Church Office.
(The Mother's Union is a popular, strong organization of women within the Anglican Church. The MU in Madagascar is very active, focusing its work on the needs and Christian development of women, family and children. Akany Famonjena orphanage is the vision and project of the Mothers' Union. Its members sit on the board and are responsible for the orphanage under the overseeing eye of the Bishop.)
THE QUILTING GROUP
Also called the Peacemakers, this group meets Wednesday afternoons in the Parish Hall to stich a quilt, chat and share a laugh. New and experienced quilters are always welcome.
